Happy New Year!

Changes, changes, and more changes at the Finch!
Our dear Finch, Cora has moved to Africa. Monrovia, Liberia to be exact! I had no idea exactly where Liberia was and had to consult the atlas to find it. Cora is a teacher (and a Finch) and after an unsuccessful semester looking for new teaching jobs in Nashville she looked elsewhere. Elsewhere just happens to be a Third World country 36 hours by plane away! However, this is not Cora's first jaunt abroad to teach. When I first met her she was leaving for two years in the Peace Corp to teach in Kazakhstan (famous now for Borat). Well this time abroad she will have electricity and running water so really it is quite luxurious! We will miss her though!

But how does this relate to the Finch? Well I will be jumping over to meet her in Morocco or Budapest or Turkey and then we are hopping to Croatia for a wedding and some beach time! Of course I will shop along the way and bring treasures back to the Finch!

Well I am off to NYC Friday to scoop up the best for the Spring! Look back here soon for a sneak peek of all the goodness I can find!

We heart Jan Michaels

We've had requests for more info about Jan Michael's fabulous jewelry, so here is a pic of some of her earrings! The top left hoops are made of agate- exquisite! The lower floral earrings are green adventurine. The two pairs with crescent- shaped drop chains are black onyx and amazonite. The metal is brass, which gives them a lovely "vintage-y " feel, and is very good quality. We can't wait to see what she comes out with this spring!

Where did the time go?

Wow, time has dashed past me!
We had a lovely bit of press in Lucky magazine featuring an even lovelier Jan Michaels ring.

If you haven't become familiar with Jan's jewelry you really should ask a Finch about it. We all adore the stuff! Now I have been working hard at this whole retail gig for more than a big ole decade now. Needless to say I have a lot of jewelry! So much that I have to curb myself now for fear that my husband will start to become a little peeved. Oh but that resolve just weakens and melts away every time I see Jan and what she has been up to in her time off. The rings are fabulous but the earrings just sing to me! I admit to having several pairs in more than one stone color. I think the joy of her jewelry is every piece is handmade by lovely ladies in San Francisco (go USA?) and dreamed up in that beauiful creative head of Jan's.

So Happy Holidays everyone! Come visit!
