Fall Hobo

Cutest. Thing. Ever.
One of our talented Finches, Amanda, has been getting crafty lately. She stitched up the cutest flock of mini- finches out of vibrant, patterned fabrics and contrasting threads; they'll soon find their way into our new fall window display. As a matter of fact, we've all been busy little birds sprucing up our nest in Hillsboro Village. Come see!

Double Happiness
Are these not GORGEOUS? In person, our new jewelry from Double Happiness is even more dazzling. What I love about this jewelry is the combination of organic type shapes and materials with edgy, bold design. All Double Happiness jewelry pieces are designed by Stephanie Wells, and manufactured by hand in her Southern California studio.

N to the Y to the C
We have been a little tardy updating here..sorry. But like I told Ms Bowyer in 10th grade, I have a really good excuse for not doing my work!
We have been in NYC! Other than the constant drizzle and cooler than average temps we had a good time. We stayed in Soho this time which was fun. We had a great view of the start of the 5 borough Bike Tour (see pic above). In Soho it is always great to walk past those cool restaurants and oh so expensive shops. There is the most precious hat shop on Thompson that I could just live in. It feels like a Parisian boutique from 1923.
We had a great dinner with these guys at this amazing tapas restaurant. I could have eaten all night! But then we took a mad cap ride in her car around the city. I felt like a was 16 again cruising around Nashville in my best friend's mother's car.
And we spent lovely time with Lizzie. Her shop will also make you swoon. If only I had my 25 year old body back I would look great in these.
We also had a few funny encounters. This vision in yellow was chillin' outside the Apple store. I stood behind her so that Susan could take her picture. She was just too good to miss.
And then we saw this beauty. I really wish I had seen her climb up. It was hilarious to watch all the delivery men in the area oggle her and then try to avoid getting hit by angry New York drivers. We finally decided the shoot was about the shoes.
Oh and while we there (ok the reason we were there) we bought some amazing new things for the shop. I can't wait for it to roll in. We have already received 6 boxes of jewelry and scarves. You really should come in and see. The drapey, delicate chain necklaces will truly complete the summer skirt and tank top ensemble that is so ubiquitous in Nashville. And the summer weight scarves are fabulous. We didn't bring the NYC prices home with us! Most of the scarves are under $25!
More hats are arriving this week as well after our stock was depleted by Steeplechase and Derby. (Sorry about the mud everyone!) The Nessa Cronin confections were such a hit we are having another batch custom made in Ireland. Those beauties should arrive by July.
So glad to be back in friendly Nashville! I love the big city but I love my city more!

That's how you'll feel when you have on an ultra wide brim sun hat from San Diego Hat Company. Whatever the occasion - Steeplechase, Derby, pool side, resort, or simply pruning the roses- be perfectly put together and delicately shielded from the sun. These hats have a UPF 50+ rating for excellent UV protection.

It Takes a Village to Make a Window
Rather, in the Village we put up a new window. Bright leaves flutter in a pink tree, which is complete with an adorable rope swing! It's the perfect complement to the warmer days and sunny dresses we've been getting. Have a super fun in the sun weekend, and good luck to all you Country Music Marathoners!

Win a $100 Gift Certificate
Earth Day is April 22nd!
Last year we held a drawing for a $100 Gift Certificate in honor of Earth Day and it was a huge success! So once again we are giving you the chance to win!
Here's how it works....
When you make a purchase and refuse packaging at either Fire Finch location you can enter your name into the drawing.
What does it mean to refuse packaging you may ask? Well it means that we don't put your purchase in any packaging...no bag, no box, no gift wrap.
Why?
At Fire Finch we estimate that we use over 3000 bags, boxes, and bows every month. That is a lot of paper out there. We consciously made the choice to use recyclable packaging but that is still a lot of paper!
Winners will be chosen at random at close of business on Earth Day from a pool of entries from both Fire Finch locations and notified by email. You will have 5 business days to claim your prize!

Alternatives
New Styles from Alternative Apparel.
Oh how do we love thee Alternative Apparel. Let me count the ways. Your tees are well priced and stylish. Your cotton is the softest around. The drape of your tees are the most flattering of all. And most of all your tees can take a beating from any washing machine and look as amazing after wash number one as wash number 20.
