Finch Favorite for Wednesday: Recycled African Rubber Bracelets
These fun, rubber bracelets are made in Africa from recycled telephone wire. They come in various colors and sizes and are only $1 each or 6 for $5. They are perfect to wear by themselves or with other jewelry. Try on a couple or a bunch at both Fire Finch boutiques.
These adorable rabbits are made by a danish design brand called Maileg. Dorthe and Erik Malil established Maileg in 1999 and are known for their contemporary interior lifestyle concepts. Stop by either Fire Finch location to check out these cute bunnies and more from this designer.
One of our favorite things to do at Fire Finch is to find the best small treats for friends and gifts. Simpatico has a wonderful variety this season of candles and amazing smelling soaps. Mia's favorite item to layer with her Pyrrha necklaces is this unique piece from Lillian Crowe. On the bottom of the half-oxidized, 27 inch cable chain hangs a weighted pyramid. Lillian Crowe is a young designer from Manhattan. Her inspiration comes from her love of museum relics and the stories behind them. She makes simple, easy to wear statement pieces from reclaimed old jewelry hardware. Check out several pieces from this designer at both Fire Finch locations.
Thistle Farms is a non-profit business in Nashville, Tennessee operated by women who have survived lives of prostitution, violence, and abuse. By hand, the women create natural bath and body products that are kind to the environment. All sales proceeds go back into the program to help this community of women to succeed.
If you want a bag with lots of pockets, this one is for you! Tano makes this spacious leather bag in brown and black. It has a longer strap that is detachable and several zipped pockets. What more could you want in a handbag! There are several styles of Tano purses at both Fire Finch locations. A Tano bag is a must-have fall accessory and will never go out of style.
This bronze necklace from Pyrrha is called Aurora and Cupid. In ancient Roman mythology Aurora, goddess of the dawn and rebirth, renews herself every morning and flies across the sky announcing the arrival of the sun. Intaglio features Aurora flinging flowers with Cupid, who holds a torch on her back.
Mia and Julia's favorite item today is a lightweight, olive jacket from Ryu. This fitted jacket has three ruffles that start at the waist. One layer of this ruffle borders the matching buttons that follow the hem to the collar. This piece is in our downtown store and will be tax free today and tomorrow.

The favorite treasure today is an exquisite necklace from David Aubrey. The three strands of ivory beads against the gold accents and stones make this a beautiful accessory for any season. Tomorrow night from 5-8pm is the Hillsboro Village Art Walk! Village Art Walk receptions, shows and events are hosted in most Hillsboro Village shops and restaurants. This is a year round event that provides changing movies, music, artists, demonstrations, book signings and much more.
The August 4th theme is “A Hawaiian Luau.”

From her Nashville digs, using inspirations evolved from jewelry merchants in New Orleans flea markets, Mia McMahan handcrafts her unique jewelry known as The Rabbit in the Moon. Mia makes her “nature on the moon” jewelry from vintage findings, celestial dyed mosses and neon jasper. Because they are made from nature, no two pieces will ever be the alike. Every piece is truly one of a kind.
