Lillian Crowe is a fantastic Brooklyn based jewelry designer. Everything is made in New York and is at least half composed of recycled brass, bronze, and other materials. Her pieces from "The Silk Road" and "Anatomica" collections will make your spine tingle with delight ;)!

Enjoying life slowly, celebrating good fortune and not taking anything for granted embodies the Pura Vida Lifestyle. Each original bracelet is handmade in Costa Rica with a unique combination of colors. Pura Vida is also a member of One Percent for the Planet and donates a portion of its proceeds to the Surfrider Organization, which is dedicated to cleaning up beaches around the world!

Finally Spring!

Can't believe Spring is finally here! All the daffodils are blooming and all the birds are chirping. Besides being excited about my upcoming gardening plans I am super into the new crop of hair accessories here at the Finch. The lovely beauty above is quite the piece of art-Flower as Hat would be an appropriate name. While this lovely sold just this weekend we do have a nice little bouquet of other floral hair accessories that come in a variety of sizes and colors.

January Showers Bring Spring Flowers?

We have new flower headbands and hairclips in so many different colors (hot pink to mustard to pale ivory) as well as textures (ribbon, felt, fabrics of all kinds). Fire Finch beauties Juliana and Alex are wearing the clip style flowers which would look adorable in shorter hair, too.

2009: Year of the Scarf?

Happy new year to you from all of us here at Fire Finch! We closed out 2008 with a great winter sale, and now we're swinging into the new year with some irresistibly cute, brand new goodies. The lovely Katie W is stylin' with one of the cheeriest new floral print scarves; for $ 22 it's a steal!

New Arrivals

Jan has really done it this time. I think little J-Baby is going lose money this week in her paycheck after her Jan shopping spree. Everyone is dying over the new Pretty in Lace design (picture in (a) and (b) above). The delicate lace overlay on pearl or green glass is too amazing to describe. Pictured in (c) is the lovely deco bracelet available in brass or silver. I think the cuff design in (d) is very Aztec. Moving along to the French is the cute bow ring with black onyx button pictured in (e). And maybe one of her best selling designs is the Book of Love locket shown closed in (f) and open in the last picture. The locket has room for 4 pictures and is on a 32" chain for length and layering.

Fly Fly Butterfly

Well the cookies were for my Ella's Kindergarten class but the Marimekko tray is totally the Finch.

I love the bold prints and whimsical patterns of Marimekko. Nothing says Spring more boldly than a bright sunny print.

Speaking of Spring....the new Spring Tano has arrived and can you believe one of the new colors is almost exactly the same shade of blue as our yummy friend up there? Pool Blue, Fudgesicle, Dandelion, Leaf, Watermelon and Apricot are all waiting here for you in the best styles of the bunch! I think maybe the folks at Tano were a little hungry when naming the new colors.....

One of the most frequently asked questions we receive about Tano is "How does the leather wear? Well the leather gets that homey, loved broken in look over time. I personally am rather rough on my bags. I have two kiddos and a busy life so mine gets put on the floor, under the plane seat, on top of the dog, under the pool chair, on top the fridge and pretty much slung anywhere you can think of (even in the deep end of the pool at the Y, thanks Ella!). So mine wear a little faster than say Sarah's bags because hers never touch any of the above said things.

To compensate from my tough love I buy the darker colors because they wear a little better than the lighter ones. But you know it is fine leather (also meaning thin and baby soft) that is treated with a high gloss finish so it will wear, especially at the creases and edges. So keep the end result in mind when looking at the pretty spring lovelies and ask to see one of my 'distressed' samples.

Urban Safari

It's almost Springtime, and at Fire Finch we're already gearing up for the new season! We love all the fresh colors and funky prints that are taking the places of Wintery black and grey. Hobo International has produced a Spring line of leather goods in colors like ivory, maple, straw, and wasabi. As I tend to favor the bold, my personal favorite is the metallic leopard (as pictured) ! We carry quite an array of Hobo's small leather goods, and we have the new Spring line in stock.
